How much subsidy will you get?
PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana is the Government of India's rooftop solar scheme for households. The central subsidy is ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 for the third kW. Systems larger than 3 kW still get the maximum of ₹78,000.

Group housing societies and residents' welfare associations can claim ₹18,000 per kW for common facilities such as lifts, water pumps, lighting and EV charging, for capacity up to 3 kW per house and 500 kW in total.

Who can apply
- You are an Indian citizen and own the house where the panels will go
- You have a valid residential electricity connection in your name
- Your roof can hold the panels with little or no shade
- You haven't received any other solar subsidy on the same connection
Documents you'll need
- Latest electricity bill (UGVCL, MGVCL, DGVCL, PGVCL or Torrent Power)
- Aadhaar card and PAN card
- Property tax bill or ownership proof
- Cancelled cheque or bank passbook for the subsidy credit
- Passport-size photograph
Step-by-step process in Gujarat
- Register on the official PM Surya Ghar portal with your state, DISCOM and consumer number.
- Apply for rooftop solar and get technical feasibility approval from your DISCOM.
- Get the system installed by a registered vendor, like us.
- Submit the installation details and apply for the net meter.
- The DISCOM inspects the system, installs the net meter and issues a commissioning certificate.
- Add your bank details on the portal. The subsidy is paid straight into your account.
